Do you want to donate a video game? Send it to us!
Do you have boxed video games gathering dust, forgotten at your mother's basement, taking up space because they stopped working, or you simply don't play games anymore?
Don't play them anymore, but you wouldn't like to see your old friends getting ruined by time?
Donate them to us and renew their life cycle.
Memória BIT is a non-profit project (don't be fooled by the ads we display, they don't even pay the server bill), so any help is always welcome.
Besides, we don't have some devices and nothing like them to produce high quality material.
Depending on where you live, we can pick them up. If not, maybe we'll pay the shipping cost. Contact us and let's see how it happens.
What you can donate
We have interest in:
- Video games, in any condition, but working.
- Cartridges, disks, games in general.
- Controllers, memory cards, wheels, cables, adaptors, peripherals gallore.
- Magazines, posters, manuals and so on, in good condition.
- Maybe you want to donate something bigger, like an arcade, computers? We probably don't want it, but we can find someone who does.
How to donate
You are in Brazil, or you know someone who's here and has donations.
If you want to donate something bulky, we can arrange for a pick-up (in São Paulo). If there are fewer items, you can send them by PAC, registered mail, etc., and we will reimburse you after delivery.
You are in another state or country.
We may have a reader or collaborator in your region who would be interested in your item. Or we can pay the shipping cost to receive it in São Paulo, if it's really good material. Sadly, I cannot afford international shipping costs, except on very rare and special occasions.
What are donations for?
The site is made by people passionate about video games, but it's ultimately a hobby. We're not paid, not sponsored, we have no salary; this is not Gamespot, IGN or Kotaku 🤣😥.
We are not rich collectors. We don't have all devices and we cannot afford to buy everything we would like to work with.
With your donations, we can do gameplays using original hardware, equip writers, or simply discover new content and information.
What we decide to keep, will be in use for all the existence of Memória BIT. And we are around since forever (12 years and counting).
Are you selling what you get?
Sometimes.
In other words, we are not making a living selling your donations, setting up a garage sale and trying to get rich. These are casual sales, to improve the site.

What do you get for donating?
- You are helping the site. Isn't it great?
- Not much? Okay... You're making space in your life by giving old friends to interested people.
- Still not enough? We'll post your name and link on the donors' page if you want. If you have a gaming-related business, it's like a deal: donate a cool item and get a permanent link on Memoria BIT – as long as the site is online (and we've been here since 2011), your name will be here, too.
Your donation is important for the maintenance of the project. The full list of donators are in Financiadores e doadores.
Important
Ironically, or not, donation requests will not be answered.
Many people have been contacting us asking for video games. I can't answer because it's been frequent and there's simply no way to meet specific requests or favor one reader or another.
If something comes up and we decide to pass it on, you'll find out through the website – a raffle is out of the question because it would cause legal problems, so when it happens, it will be through a cultural contest or something like it.
