Memória BIT is open to crowdfunding via Catarse.
You can contribute a monthly or one-time amount. The money will be used to maintain and improve the MB. Contributors will receive rewards based on the monthly amount. For more details, read our Catarse page.
Funding via Catarse is closed. If the campaign page is still online, please do not use it.
Why we ask for funding
MB has ad units and sometimes we publish sponsored articles. But these sources don't bring in much for several reasons.
The average estimate is R$1,000 per year to keep the site online since we started. This only includes the server and domain, which doesn't cover the total work.
Why to fund
The old question of "Why to pay when there is free content out there?"
MB is part of the so-called "free content", where anyone can access it and absorb it. But the only thing free here is the access. Producing it is not free at all and the price increases as the site grows.
By investing, you are taking part in the project and also having some benefits. Among those defined for all monthly investment ranges:
1. No ads
As a backer, you join the ranks of readers with ads disabled by default. A small but sincere way to thank those who contribute.
2. Recognition
Gain visibility that can help your business. If you allow it, your name and a nofollow link will appear on the MB funders page.
3. Permanent access
As a backer of any amount, you have guaranteed access (if logged with your account) even if the site adopts a paywall system in future.

Can't help with funds? You can still help in several ways:
- Allow ads: add MB to your AdBlock exceptions list or to browsers with automatic blocking such as Opera and Brave. We do not have abusive ads.
- Disclosure: if you like something you saw here, share it on social media.
