What Personal Data Do We Collect?
When visitors do activies like comments, likes, shares and/or signup on Memória BIT, we collect one or more of this:
- Data from the comment form;
- Your IP address;
- Browser data.
This information helps us manage the functionality and security of the site, such as spam detection, protection against breaches, and other security measures.
An anonymous string of characters created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check if you use their service. You can read the Gravatar privacy policy here.
After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible along with your username and comment, as well as other occasional and impersonal data (such as comment count).
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely by the site. For users who register on our site, we also keep their profile information.
Registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (the username cannot be changed). Site administrators can also view and edit this information. Data is used solely for site operations.
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request the deletion of any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Non-personal content that is not removed will be displayed with labels like "anonymous," "banned," or other impersonal tags.
We do not use email addresses from comments or feed subscriptions for spam. IP addresses from which comments originate are logged for security purposes but are not used to attempt to verify the author's identity or address, or for any other purpose except as required by law.
Emails subscribed to feeds will receive updates about the site as requested, with an option to unsubscribe directly from the email. Subscribers will not receive emails about any topic unrelated to the site's content (such as marketing).
Media
Almost all media files uploaded to the site will be publicly accessible. If you upload images to the site, avoid those with embedded personal data (EXIF). Visitors can download these images from the site and extract data from them.
Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as, but not limited to, videos and images. Embedded content from third-party sites behaves exactly as if the visitor were visiting the third-party site. Such sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to the site. Cookies
This site may use cookies and/or beacons when users access and/or interact with any page. These files are used to:
- Display advertisement based on previous visits to Memória BIT or other sites. Advertising cookies and beacons do not alter any other behavior and/or content of your browsing. Memória BIT occasionally features articles and content created by third parties who are not part of the core writing team. The site maintains quality control over all published content but is not responsible for content or links provided by third parties. The identity of third parties is kept confidential by the site for security reasons.
Sponsored Content and Advert articles
Articles with the sole purpose of selling a product or service, without other relevance to the site’s content, will be labeled as "sponsored content," "advert," or similar.
"Branded content" or sponsored content will not be labeled if the site deems the material informative to the reader, even if it is sponsored.
Affiliate Links
Memória BIT may include links to products and services that occasionally pay the site a commission. User navigation is not affected by these links; even if a reader purchases products or services through these links, the final price will not be impacted.
